Golden Gate Crossing
& Marin Mountain Biking
Escape to San Francisco for an fun-filled outing that combines two quintessential Northern California biking experiences: over the Golden Gate Bridge and off-road on the trails of Mt. Tamalpais, where many say the sport of mountain-biking originated (just call it Mt. Tam, as the locals do!).
Your adventure begins at Crissy Field in San Francisco, where you'll casually pedal through the historic Presidio and over the Golden Gate Bridge with views of Alcatraz, Angel Island and the San Francisco Skyline.
At the north end of the bridge, you'll load into the van for a short ride to the top of Mt. Tamalpais, where your picnic venue awaits you, perched at 2,500 feet with panoramic views of the bay below.
After lunch, you'll hop back on the bikes for the off-road portion of today's ride. The entire route follows a wide, gently graded fireroad downhill all the way to the base of the mountain. With no uphill and no obstacles, this is as beginner-friendly as mountain biking gets, offering just the right dose of adventure for your group!
